Rabat, Morocco (PANA) - The Moroccan police Friday at the Casablanca Mohammed V Airport arrested two Nigerian nationals and a Ghanaian with cocaine capsules in their stomach, police sources told PANA here.

The suspects were identified simply as a 35-year old Nigerian lady, bound for Milan, northern Italy, in with 18 cocaine capsules in her stomach.

Another Nigerian, a 26-year-old man, and a 25-year old Ghanaian who had swallowed 21 cocaine capsules were also identified.

On Wednesday, the airport police had arrested a 27-year-old Ghanaian, who arrived from Conakry (Guinea) with 55 cocaine capsules in his stomach.

More than 70 suspected traffickers from sub-Saharan Africa have been arrested at the Casablanca Airport since January 2006, when the Moroccan authorities started using scanner checks.

In 2006, Moroccan authorities seized a record haul of 911 kg of cocaine, 50 times more than in 2005.
