Liberian President commends Morocco's peace efforts in Mano River

 

Monrovia, May.15 - Liberia's President has commended, here Thursday, Morocco's efforts to strengthen peace and stability in the region of the Mano River.
 

    Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, who was speaking at the opening ceremony of the Mano river Union (MRU- regional grouping also including Guinea and Sierra Leone) summit, lauded Morocco's actions to turn this sub region into an area where peace, stability and prosperity prevail.

    She also noted that Morocco's presence in this summit, shows the North African Kingdom's interest in developing cooperation with the MRU and its readiness to help MRU member-countries, within a mutually advantageous South-South cooperation framework.

    On Thursday, Morocco's Ambassador to Liberia, Mohamed Lasfar had reiterated the Kingdom's readiness to continue its efforts to "make the region a fruitful development and exchange area."

    He further renewed Morocco's commitment to have sub-regional countries benefit from its expertise, mainly in managing water, electricity, transport, fisheries and vocational training.
